So I just got done a bunch of requested drawings over at the ToT boards. Really good practice I have to say. Thanks to all those that requested art.
What I learned:
1. The PEN TOOL. it is made of win.
2. I need to work on the torso area of the full figure. It often doesn't twist right.
3. In GIMP the scroll wheel + CTRL causes the image to zoom in and out. Good for detail work (esp when working with the pen tool)

Now I want to practice a different skill. I need to work on drawing real people in my own style. You know, cartooning them up. So if anyone has a live-action, canon character (movies, tv, etc) they would like to see just let me know. And yes I requested from myself
